Professional Story

Throughout her career, Isela has specialized in trauma recovery, addiction treatment, emotional wellness and behavioral health. She has worked extensively with survivors of trauma, individuals struggling with substance use disorders, veterans, active-duty military personnel, first responders, and unaccompanied immigrant youth. Her clinical experience also includes crisis intervention, human trafficking screening, family systems, and workforce development.

Currently, Isela serves as a Clinical Supervisor with the National Youth Advocate Program (NYAP), where she leads multidisciplinary teams, provides clinical supervision, and supports high-quality, trauma-informed services for vulnerable youth and families. She is also the founder of Isela Vilchis Consulting, where she designs and facilitates workshops focused on emotional intelligence, leadership, communication, resilience, and personal growth for organizations and community groups.

Licensed as a minister in 2015, Isela has been passionate about integrating evidence-based psychology with spiritual principles in a way that is welcoming and respectful of people from all backgrounds. Her mission is to help individuals experience lasting transformation by addressing emotional, relational, and spiritual health together.

The Person Behind the Work

Beyond the Office

Originally from Mexico, Isela now calls San Antonio, Texas, home. She enjoys spending time with her family, nieces, friends, and her two dogs.

Outside of her professional work, she loves studying Scripture, exploring the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith, and continuing to grow spiritually. An Enneagram Type Seven, she brings curiosity, optimism, and enthusiasm into both her personal life and her work, believing that every person has the capacity to heal, grow, and live with greater purpose.
